Between 3,000 and 5,000 people are estimated to have attended a Dublin protest against Donald Trump’s visit to Ireland on Thursday evening.
The Stand Up To Trump rally started out at the Garden of Remembrance in Parnell Square at 6pm yesterday and thousands turned out in support.
Also in attendance was the infamous six-foot Trump baby balloon, which was brought over from London by a member of the campaign group Uplift, one of the many groups taking part in the rally.

Organisers were granted special permission to fly the blimp over Irish skies for the protest, which was attended by more than 40 campaign groups as well as several TDs.
The US president has been staying at his golf resort in Doonbeg, Co Clare for the duration of his visit, but that didn’t stop people in Dublin from making it clear that he is not welcome in Ireland.

Protesters at the Dublin rally could be heard chanting “Donald Trump’s not welcome here” and “Donald Trump go away” as they made their way from the Garden of Remembrance along Parnell Square East and down O’Connell Street.
