They say that knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit, but wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad…I say true wisdom is knowing that the Totally Terrific Tomato Festival happening in Teak House this week is not to be missed.
Running from August 17 to September 1, there is still time to learn about the ‘remarkable story and sheer variety of this amazing fruit’. Last year’s festival featured a World Record breaking 256 tomato cultivars! Now that’s a lot of tomatoes.
Housed in the gorgeous National Botanic Gardens, there’s loads to see and do between talks and other fun activities to keep the whole family entertained. So, stop by Teak House and get one of your five a day.
Just one question though; if a tomato is a fruit, does that make ketchup a jam?
