A Dublin eatery has been named one of the 50 best vegan restaurants in Europe by a top travel website.
Sova Vegan Butcher on Pleasants Street in Dublin 8 was named number 20 in the prestigious list by global travel site Big 7.
Votes were cast in poll of Big 7 readers, across their 1.5 million social media followers and by a panel of food experts, who nominated everything from tiny vegan bistros to ethical fine dining experiences and fish-free sushi joints.
They wrote, ‘Ireland’s first vegan ‘butcher’, you’ll find vegan dishes here that are full of creativity. Case in point? The king ‘skallops’ with a buerre blanc sauce (minus the butter) or creamy cashew gnocchi.
‘The only fine dining restaurant in the country with a total plant-based menu. Best of all, it’s BYOB.’
Meanwhile, the number one spot went to Soul Kitchen in Turin, Italy, which they said is ‘full of flavour, looks beautiful and allows chefs to really push the boundaries’.
The article explains that the list showcases ‘how creative vegan dishes can be. Whether you’ve made the switch to veganism or not, these restaurants are a must-visit’.
